The training in combat
concepts and tactics presented by IPDTA is called Explosive Self Defence System
(ESDS).
ESDS is based on the
observation of human reactions to different impulses both physical and
psychological. The reactions to motivations (such as pain, fear, physical
contact etc.) as well as the best way to provide these motivations to an
individual were studied.
The concept of ESDS
includes the following parts:
------------------------------
Non violent High Risk
stance
All the methods done in ESDS
are done with open hands. However to understand the whole concept behind this
idea you have to understand the non violent High Risk stance and how the Body
language could affect the aggressor.

--------------------------
Verbal
de-escalation
The simple words in
combination with "proper" body language could de-escalate the most violent
situations. Remember your main goal is to defend yourself and not to get
involved in a fight.

------------------------
Open hand
methods
By using open hand methods
will not only minimize the visible damage to attacker. You will also minimize
the risk to your own injury and it will be easier to explain the use of
force.

Human behaviour
How to affect peoples behaviour during stressfull
confrontations. By using a few simple methods / like throwing an object,
shouting or pointing in specific direction / you could force people to react in
a specific way.

Instinctive Body
Ractions
Stress will force people to
react instinctively, without thinking. Regardless your SD / MA background when
surprisingly attacked your body will force you to react with pure
instinct.
That kind of reactions should be taken into consideration to making
your self defence methods more effective.
