FOUNDER
IPDTA was founded in 1996 by Slavo Gozdzik, police officer in the Swedish Police Force.
He has worked as a patrol officer since 1989. He was for many years responsible for the defensive/arrest tactics and expandable baton training in Uddevalla PD. Also involved in Door Supervisor Training.
Earlier occupations: 5 years as a bouncer (Sweden and Poland), 3 years at correctional institutes for young criminals (Sweden) and 3 years as a teacher of gymnastics.
HISTORY
IPDTA was created to be a meeting center for officers interested in exchanging the ideas and developing effective unarmed/armed tactics for patrolling police/law enforcement officers.
Over and above their regular duties both as a patrol and training officer, Slavo and other IPDTA instructors traveled throughout Europe since 1995 to teach self defense. All the while searching for more effective self defense and arresting tactics for patrol officers.
The mission of finding out more effective methods resulted in courses/seminars/lectures for different Departments.
Those vits/courses/lectures were done by IPDTA representatives or instructors.
